Job Description:

Conducts psychosocial/mental status evaluation of children and families via clinical interview and other examination techniques under the supervision of a psychiatrist or psychologist.

Establishes DSM-5 diagnoses and case formulation. Designs and carries out planned treatments and interventions to improve the patient's psychosocial, psychological, and emotional adaptations to current and future stressors.

Provides consultation and education to department, staff, trainees, and the community.

Qualifications:

Requires a master's degree from an accredited social work school, counseling, or related fields (specialized training in psychiatric social work with children and their families).

Education and training in psych diagnostic and therapeutic techniques in developmental psychology, personality theory, behavior modification, and psychopathology.

Three thousand hours of post-master's degree supervised psychotherapy experience.

Comprehensive understanding/experience in applying theory, practice, and techniques of behavioral health treatment services as applicable to children and families, acquired through a minimum of three years experience in a mental health treatment facility or under formal supervision of a licensed psychiatrist, psychologist, LCSW, or MFT.

Previous outpatient experience preferred. Must have and maintain current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Professional Counselor (LPC) from the State of Wisconsin and satisfy continuing education requirements.
